Thanks for the post Clint - nice thoughts!

This reminded me of a quote from the German theologian, Jürgen Moltmann, which I came across a couple of years back. Here he touches on the idea that faith (and hope) is meant to get under our skin and, as you have highlighted, is a powerful agitating agent - a driver and motivator towards outworking 'alternative futures'. See what you think:

"Faith, whenever it develops into hope, causes not rest but unrest, not patience but impatience. It does not calm the unquiet heart, but is itself the unquiet heart in man. Those who hope in Christ can on longer put up with reality as it is, but begin to suffer under it, to contradict it. Peace with God means conflict with the world, for the goad of the promised future stabs inexorably into the flesh of every unfulfilled present. Might we then hold tenaciously to what we long for and refuse to submerge our hope in the shallow waters of satisfaction."

I love my God journal, always good to write out the good the bad and the ugly. Then I can process things, get over situations, feel blessed, get closer to God. Awesome.
