Seasons & Festivals

Alongside the natural rhythms of the Earths seasons we as a church community follow the rhythms of the liturgical seasons, played out in our larger historical story, keeping the memory alive by celebrating foundational biblical events that our own story has grown out of.

Our story starts at Advent, the incarnation, God became flesh and lived among us.

We celebrate the arrival of Jesus, the One who shows us what it means to be fully alive, imaging God and giving us hope, a season of life and light.

The season of Lent leads us through the darker days, the wilderness of Jesus, through to his Passion, a time of honest reflection and sacrifice, where we share in the suffering of Jesus that we might also enjoy and partake in his resurrection.

Eastertide…the dark horror of the Cross and the beautiful splendour of Resurrection, through to the wonderful moment of Pentecost, where God comes to us again as Holy Spirit, the breath of God, who comforts and fills us with a presence and power enabling us to live this life, fully alive.

Our liturgical calendar moves us into Ordinary Time, a long season of quiet growth and maturity, the stuff of the reality of life, where the rubber meets the road, and before we know it, Advent is upon us again!

As a family we also celebrate Festivals that keep the memory of our personal story alive.

Our Birthday, which falls on July 4th is an occasion to celebrate the arrival of our own community, so we throw a party.

And once a year we cease from our usual way of gathering, and head away for a long weekend to Camp, a time to live together as an extended family, celebrating the year gone by and looking forward to the one to come.

We invite you to join with us on this Rhythmic Lifestyle, celebrate all of our milestones, and put your photo in the family album, as we reflect and remember.
